IRC (Internet Relay Chat)

If you like to interact directly with some the best folks on the net then you simply must try out some of the genealogy IRC groups.

To reach the genealogy discussion groups with IRC you can use an IRC software program. There are several software packages available such as:

MIRC WINTEL platform, available in 16 bit (Win3.0, 3.1) or 32 bit (Win 95, 98, NT)

PIRCH WINTEL platform, available in 16 bit (Win3.0, 3.1, Win 95)

Ircle Macintosh platform

Once you have acquired and installed an IRC package then connect to any of the following sites and go to the listed channels.

But, as with anything else you can simply ignore them and partake of the lighter side of life in the genealogy areas.
