McMurry Family

These are the four brothers and two sisters that were the children of emigrates William (born about 1725 in Ireland?) and Mary McMurry
William and Mary seem to have come from Scotland via Ireland to America before
the Revolutionary War. They settled in Virginia
and in 1787-1788 they moved to Kentucky.

James McMurry
born 1760 settled in Virginia
moved to County of Kentucky
in spring of 1788
Bought land near Bradfordsville
where he lived and died.		 Robert McMurry
born 6 Dec 1772 in Botetourt Co.,VA
settled in Virginia
moved to KY 1788
was killed by Indians some
years later while clearing
land near his home.
When children were grown
the family moved to Central Illinois.

Thomas McMurry

Helped erect log church and school
house 16*16 at Big Springs.
In 1935 Lebanon,KY occupied the ground.
