TRAIL OF TEARS
Find out about this terrible march "Trail of Tears"
Trail of Tears ~ The Indian Removal Act of 1830 required all tribes east of the Mississippi to cede their land to the U.S. government and migrate to the western plains. One third of the Creek, Choctaw, Chickasaw, and Cherokee perished in the process.
On June 6, 1838, the Cherokee became the last major Indian tribe to be forced from the Eastern United States. Their involuntary departure out of Chattanooga, Tennessee was the final stage of the federal government's plan to remove all Indians from the East, in exchange for land in a designated Indian Territory, which later became part of Oklahoma. Approximately 18,000 Cherokees set out on the long, arduous journey they later called: Nunna-da-ul-tsun-yi or "the place where they cried." Historians would forever afterward call it "The Trail of Tears.
The River of Tears
They are the people time forgot. After taking away what was theirs, the world gave them back just a scrap of dust to live on, and tried to strip them of their dignity. The world poured bad spirits into the lips of their children, and their children to come. Starting a chain of destruction that runs through their generations. Killing off what is left of their seed.
