Preheat oven to 375 degrees F or 190 degrees C.

Beat butter, sugars, vanilla, eggs until light and fluffy. mix in flour, baking soda and salt by hand until well blended. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.

Drop by heaping teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheet 2 inches apart. bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Makes about 5 dozens cookies.
