Notes for Thomas FOSTER, JR.
Died in Rawley Parish, Amelia Co., VA. There is a conflicting birth
date. Some sources give 1724, others 1718. It is known he was married
twice, but it is not confirmed which wife was the mother of which
children. Thomas was advanced in years by the time of the American
Revolution. He did his part by furnishing supplies to the Continental
Army and occasionally serving as wagoneer (there are five references to
Toams Foster being paid for supplies, provisions and wagon hire in
Virginia Military Records--pgs. 467,543,557,597,640). Will was written
on March 11, 1786 and recorded on March 23, 1786.
(French and Indian Wars) From A Roll of the Officers and Soldiers who
engaged in the service of this Colony before the Battle of the Meadows in
1754 according to returns made at Wills Creek, July 9, 1754 in George
Washingtons own hand. Thoms Foster.
