Notes for Esther LANGLEY

The date of Esther's death has not been learned for certain, but it seems
likely that it was prior to the 1860 census, since she is not shown on
that report. The Index To Mortality Tables, 1860, shows, on p. 18, that
Ester Lister, of Greenville County, died of dropsy sometime during the
12-month period preceding June 1, 1860. It seems likely that this refers
to the same person. Family tradition is that she was buried in the
Lister Cemetery, and there is some evidence of this, but no marked grave
has been found (see Note on Lister Family Cemetery, Appendix 5).
