Notes for Margaret BUCKLEY
FROM KIMBROUGH GENEALOGICAL QUARTERLY-VOL 1, NUMBER 2 (April 1964)
Evidence is accumulating and legend states she was
Margaret Bulkley (Buckley) daughter of Benjamin Bulkley, ferryman, on the
Pamunkey
River in the area in which Colonist John Kimbrough lived. Sons Major
and Buckley
(Buckley) are known to have been born to this marriage. There are
reasons to believe
other children were born to them. Records are found of a Margaret
Kimbrough and a
Benjamin Kimbrough, believed to be children of Colonist John Kimbrough
and his wife
Margaret. The Marmaduke Kimbrough of Virginia and North Carolina in the
1730's to
1760's mentions his youngest sister Margaret, and places Marmaduke as a
son of
Margaret. Records imply Nathaniel Kimbrough was a brother of the above
Marmaduke.
