This is one of three letters that I have found that was sent to my great-great-great grandfather George Munday. This one was sent to him by his brother Nathaniel Munday who lived in Logan Co., Ky. I have typed it just as I have it. All the spelling and punctuation are original.
Logan County Ky. June 11th 1826
Dear Brother we are all in moderate health at present hoping this may find you all blessed with the same I must inform you that my tax has come against me
in thisfor the county of Barren that is to say my revenue my cty levy tax still remains in Barren my revenue has come on me with fifty pr ct being(<not sure of this word) I am returned as a delinquent Richd Curd our present Sheriff says the advantage is sometimes taken of people (big blobb) if you (tear in paper) paid my tax procure a receipt and send it on to me otherwise is shall be obliged to pay it the first of august write me as spedily as possible money is scarce with meYrs with gratitude
