Devotion #3:
Can I See God?

Memory Verse: "In Him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visibile and invisible" Colossians 1:16

Can you see your computer screen? What if you put a blanket over the computer?

What happened to your computer? Is it still there?

Sure it is! Pull the blanket off and your computer is still there as it was the whole time!

Sometimes when you are outside playing, I bet you see the leaves blowing in the wind and feel the wind blowing against your skin.

Can you see the wind? NO! But you know it is there because you can feel it, can't you!

Have you ever wondered what is inside a balloon? Ask Mom or Dad to blow up a balloon for you.

Notice the shape of you balloon and how it is nice and full. What do you think is inside the balloon that gives it it's nice round shape?

AIR is inside the balloon.

Now ask Mom or Dad to let the air out of the balloon and let you feel the air against your hand.

Could you see the air as it left the balloon?

Even though we can't see the air, we know it is real. We know air is real because we saw it give shape to our balloon and we felt it against our skin.

When you are laying in your bed at night and your room is very dark, you know the sun will come back in the morning.

Even though we can't see the sun, we know it is still there.

Did you know that God is invisible?

We can't see God just like we can't see the wind. Even though we can't see God, He can always see us. God is always close to you and He loves you very much.

Did you know that God will never leave you? God goes wherever you go and He is always thinking about you!

God made everything! Look all around God's wonderful and beautiful world. God made all the trees, flowers and plants.

God made all the animals that you see. When you hear the thunder in a loud thunderstorm, did you know that God made thunder too? Our God is a great God and there is nothing impossible for God!

If you read the Bible you will learn many wonderful things about God. Everything you read in the Bible is true and really happened.

God is ALWAYS with you even though you can't see Him. God is ALWAYS thinking about YOU!

~~~ A Special Prayer ~~~

Dear God, I am so happy that you made me. I love knowing that you are always with me and always thinking about me. Thank you for making your beautiful world God and thank you for making me! I love you God. Amen

When I feel the wind blow against my face, I will think about God. I know God is as close to me as the wind.

When I walk around outside in God's beautiful world, I will think about God. God made everything!

Activities

Ask Mom or Dad to go on a walk with you and take pictures of some of the wonderful things that God has made.

Cut out pictures in magazines with Mom or Dad. Make a book called, "God's Beautiful World." Glue all of your pictures in your book!

Go on a long nature walk. Be very quiet and listen to all the sounds in God's beautiful world. If you listen very quietly, you might even hear the wind!
