| Spring of 1998. All the plants are very small since I went cheap and bought only 1 to 2 gallon size plants. The small tree is the flowering cherry destined to reach 20 feet in height. It is planted no LESS than 12 feet from the house. I intend to prune it to keep it under 20 feet. Many problems people have is planting trees to close to the house. They grow faster than you think. |  |

Closeup of the thuja occidentalis in front of the garage also in Jan 1999 on that same sunny day. These plants are supposed to reach 20 feet high, but the height of the garage can handle it. The peonies and hydrangeas are between though currently dormant. Cedar chips are used for the bedding laid over landsacpe fabric. The beds are bordered with hard plastic edging to keep the grass out. |
