CAPE MAY POINT LIGHTHOUSE - CAPE MAY, NJ
On Thursday August 20, 1998 we visited the Cape May Point Lighthouse. My mommy and I climbed 199 stairs to the top. You could see forever. It was really pretty.
The Cape May Point Lighthouse is a 157.5 foot tall structure which is actually the third lighthouse to operate from this site at Cape May Point. Built in 1859, the original beacon consisted of oil lamps with prisms and lenses. The current beacon, which produces 350,000 candlepower of light, was added in 1945. It can be seen for 19 miles out to sea.

Looking up at the light.
This is me and my mommy, at the top, on the platform. You can see my mommy waving to my Aunt Barbie and Poppop, on the ground, taking our picture.
