1 cup shortening
2 eggs
2 teaspoons cream of tarter
1 teaspoon soda
4 teaspoons sugar
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 teaspoons ground cinnamon and butter
Cream the shortening and 1 1/2 cups sugar and
eggs until light and fluffy.
Combine flour, cream of tarter, salt and soda.
Stir into creamed mixture. Stir in vanilla.
Shape the dough into balls the size of walnuts.
Combine remaining sugar and cinnamon, mixing well.
Roll each ball into mixture. Place on a greased cookie sheet.
Flatten cookies slightly with fork. Bake at 400 degrees
for 8 minutes or until the first cookies begin to fall.
Cool on wire rack and store in an air tight container.
