Adelore Louis Alexander was born on June 18, 1893. He was baptised June 25, 1893 by Rev. Louis Mollier; his godparents were Louis and Merence St. Louis. French was his first language; he didn't speak English until grade school. He married Rosana Sorrell on August 12, 1919, in the Catholic Church in Zurich, Kansas. They rented farms throughout Nebraska (including Wakefield, Dixon County) and Missouri.
According to his son Frank, Adelore served in the US Cavalry. There once was in Rosana's house in Gallatin, Missouri a photo of Adelore, seated at a desk and wearing his uniform. The photo was in an oval frame with a domed glass. Sadly, the whereabouts of this photo are now unknown.
Adelore and Rosana did not teach French to their children; instead, they used it as a "secret language" when they wanted to say something privately. This didn't entirely work; their children did pick up at least a few words of French in the process.
Adelore was the father of five children. He is buried in Hillcrest Cemetery, Gallatin, Missouri beside Rosana, beneath a common stone.
