John was my great-greatgrandfather. He and his twin brother James joined the Muster Roll Co. H (Walton Tigers) 42nd Regiment, Georgia Volunteer Infantry. James never made it home and his body was never found. No one ever found out what happened to him. I Love This History!!!!!

Several of Winright's brother fought for the Union. He and three brothers who lived in KY joined, and he was the only survivor of those who fought for the South. I'm not familiar with UDC or SCV. My cousin who has traced our geneaology told Mother she qualified for CSA, which I understand to mean Confederate States of America. The subject is interesting to me, and I would like to learn more. With all of the recent publicity concerning the Confederate flag being included on the various state flags, and with controversy over different Confederate Memorials, it has made me realize that the history of the South is in jeopardy. I am interested in securing a CSA monument for GWL Perry. He was murdered in Dallas Co., TX in 1911 and is buried in Ellis Co., TX Chapel Hill aka Smith Family Cemetery, Ellis County, TX. The newspaper articles states that when his body was found he wa wearing some sort of CSA veterans pen . I've found muster chits for him in the above unit. Please advise what paperwork should be submitted to get him a monument. Thank you.
