Personally appeared before me M. Mabe and W. A. Greer who being duly sworn on oath 
depose and say that they are well acquainted with Celia Kilby who makes the foregoing 
application and statements, and have known her for 40 years and 20 years, respectively, 
and now her to be the identical person she represents herself to be, and that the 
statements made by her are true, to the best of their knowledge and belief, and they 
have no interest whatever in her claim.

----It is interesting to note that Celia listed her birthplace as Ashe County, North Carolina on this application. From all the known evidence, this is obviously not true. Her family was listed in both 1820 and 1830 on the census reports in Grayson County, Virginia. If anyone has her listed in other census reports please let me know. I'm guessing that she would state she was born in Virginia. I would like to check it out before casting more doubt on her statements.
