The baby was named William Edward, after two great grandfathers. His mom and dad decided before he was born that he would be known as Will. Little did they realize how meaningful that name would become in their baby's life.
The first two years were difficult at best. Will was plagued by illnesses that stemmed from a stomach problem called Gastroesophageal Reflux. Constant illnesses and countless trips to the doctors led to a final solution:surgery to correct the problem . Two surgery's later the problems were resolved. While the surgery's were agonizing for all to endure, they became the turning point in this families life. Successful surgery led to better health. Better health led to a boy who blossomed before their very eyes.
Soon after they had a child who was growing, thriving, smiling and laughing. He developed a charming personality that had a magical quality to it; for all who met him seemed to feel really drawn to him. Best of all he started to learn how do things..like play with toys with his feet, elbows and mouth. He learned to sit up by himself, eat soft table food, splash in the tub, and eventually stand and take steps. His mom and dad realized that he was very strong willed. He had determination to master any skill he set his mind to. Despite all of his handicaps he learned how to do things in his own way .
