Walks and Day Trips by Carl H. Fritts, Jr.

WALKS and DAY TRIPS, 2008

One of our favorite activities are walks and day trips to little towns or attractions. In 2008, we decided that such trips would have to suffice for a vacation since we still have a home for sale.

Murfreesboro Greenway

1. Here is an old dam across Stones River along the Greenway. The Greenway is beautiful and historic as it connects the Stones River Battlefield with Fortress Rosencrans and the Pioneer Village of Cannonsburgh.

Bell Buckle, Tennessee

2. Bell Buckle is a beautiful little town filled with antique shops with a good place to eat. A sidewalk leads to Webb School which is also scenic and historic.

The View from The Arrington Winery

3. One of our day trips in June was to Lieperts Fork and Franklin but the find of the day was the peace and quiet and beautiful view from the front porch of the Arrington Winery.

Stones River Pond at Old Fort Park

4. Old Fort Park is great for having a variety of activities. Here is a view from one of the trails in the Park taken on a day when we took two of our grand children for a picnic and a walk.

Baloga Whale in Georgia Aquarium

5. We decided to take a mini-vacation from our home which is for sale in Georgia to take advantage of the free lodging. It was a nice visit and one which we had not made since the aquarium has been built.
