Sunrise on the Ridge by Carl H. Fritts, Jr.

Sunrise on the Ridge

Before dawn on Sunday, April 10,
I walked up to the top of that
middle ridge yonder with my camera.

Here is the view from the top of the ridge.

I came part way down and took a photo of the farm looking south.

Here the sun peeks above the ridge across the valley.

This is a wider view of Brushy Valley looking East into the sun.

This is a photo back to the top of the ridge from where the first photo was taken.

I walked down into the hollow on the west side of the ridge and saw these May Apples.

The view from the hollow from above the May Apples. Have you heard the expression, "It's so far back you have to pipe the sunshine in."?

Looking south toward the farm from a little lower than the second picture.

This is the big dead pine tree from the east side.

This is the little hollow to the east of the dead pine.

This is the view on the way back to the car looking up the ridge from the fence.

Looking west toward the church from halfway back across the field.

Looking west toward the church from the road.

From the road looking back up the ridge to where I was.

Looking up the valley from the road.
