John and Aimy Compton to James Hunter


State of South Carolina
Laurens District

	Know all men by these presents that I John Compton and Aimy 
his wife of the state and district aforesaid for and in consideration of 
seventy five dollars to me in hand paid by James Hunter joiner of state 
and district aforesaid have granted and bargained and sold and 
released unto the said James Hunter all that tract of land containing 
twenty five acres situate lying and being on Duncan's Creek bounding 
East on land held by Andrew Park to where it intersects the path leading 
to the said John Comptons and all other lines on the said James Hunter 
and John Comptons land Together with all and singular the rights heirs 
and Hereditaments and appurtenances of the said premises belonging 
or in any wise incident or appertaining to have and to hold all and 
singular the premises before mentioned unto the said James Hunter his 
heirs and assigns forever and we do hereby bind ourselves our heirs 
executors and administrators to warrant and to forever defend all and 
singular the said premises unto the said James Hunter his heirs and 
assigns against ourselves and our heirs or any other person 
whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof 
as witness as witness our hands and seal this nineteenth day of 
November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and 
seven and in the thirty second year of the independence of the United 
States of America.

	Personally appeared before me James Park Junior who 
being duly sworn on his oath saith that he saw the within named John 
Compton and Aimy his wife sign seal and deliver the within deed for 
the purpose therein mentioned and also that he saw John Luke sign 
the same as a subscribing witness and himself sworn to and 
subscribed before me this 12th July, 1808.
