NANCY POOL 1833.
Notes for JAMES M. COMPTON:
1. No one knows what the M. stands for in his name.
2. No census records in SC show a James M. There are many James's
scattered throughout SC. Have established that he was associated with the
Scuffletown PO in census records. This is consistent. Scuff. appears to be in
the present area of Ora, SC. (Determined from examination of 1820 SC map
and present day map).
3. Birth date from sheet marked EX 001. Place of birth from EX002
4. Death date from EX001 but this date placed as just 1896 on EX002 and
004. Dec 28, 1895 from "Sevier Family History".

There is a deed recorded where James Compton sold land to W.C.
Templeton about the time he moved to Arkansas. The time frame was
clearly after the marriage date of Cornelia.
The 1870 Census shows him as William C
Alice Warrenfells had a scrap of paper type written mailed to her by
someone, who stated that his name was William Carter.
Associate on internet (Margaret S. Gaulden) states that his name was
William L. Templeton.

RECOLLECTIONS:
1. My GFather (Pa), used to greatly enjoy taking me and my 1st cousin
(J.F. Warrenfells, III), to First Methodist Church in Athens, Ga. Two young
guys sitting there in the midst of old guys trying to sing songs....but Pa liked it
and I guarantee...we did too. If he liked it...we liked it!
Pa was probably the easiest going guy in the world. If he ever got angry
at me, I don't recall. Always a kind word to everyone, and never any
criticism of anything. When he saw a person, he saw the best in them.
When he laughed, everybody laughed, that's how infectous it was. He
smoked a pipe, much to the chagrin of my Gmother. Somehow, I was given
a pipe to smoke coffee grounds in so I could emulate him.....wow...did we
both get in trouble!
