BURNSVILLE ATHLETIC CLUB HISTORY
The Burnsville Athletic Club emblem, "BAC (back) our Youth", has become a familiar sight around Burnsville. Few people remember it was first organized as the BTAA, Burnsville Township Athletic Association, in 1959. Cliff Homo, Ken Foster and John Perez are three of the founders who are still active in the BAC.
Baseball was the first athletic activity of the BAC, and was organized that first year with 160 boys making up 12 teams. Girls' softball began in 1963 with six teams. In 1975, the BAC registered 5,800 boys and girls for its athletic programs of baseball, softball, hockey, soccer, football, wrestling and track.
The BAC operates as a non-profit, self-supporting organization with monies coming from fund raising campaigns, registration fees and donations. The organization and administration of the BAC is totally dependent on volunteer workers from the City of Burnsville.
