When we have color days, the day before, I send home a brown bag with a
note on it. Example, Monday is Purple day please bring this bag back to
school with purple items in it. On the day we try to dress in the color. I also
send home a note saying that they can wear something that has the color
hidden. Only one strip on a shirt, an emblem, etc... On the day we go
through the bags. It is interesting to see the many things the children come
up with.

the candy color's were before they could eat and enjoy them.
(17) Color me Suprised Poem
One day I mixed up yellow and blue, just to find out what they would do.
I mixed them up and stirred them around, and you won't believe the next
thing I found.
The yellow was gone, the blue was no more, instead I saw stuff that wasn't
their before.
It happened the day I mixed yellow and blue, suddenly I had great gobs of
green goo.
Now that sounds strange just try and you'll see,
The very same thing that happened to me.
Because if you go mixing yellow and blue,
You too, will have great gobs of green goo.

with newspaper first to prevent sticking). Then tape green construction
paper borders around the collages and hang them in a window.

pack that I put objects in that are the color of that week along with colors
that are not our celebrated color. If I pull out an object that is the color of
the week they stand up and say that color out loud. If the object is not the

them in a paper bag. Have the children sit in a circle. Let one child at a
time reach into the bag and pull out a feather. In order for the child to keep
the feather the child must name something that is the matching color.
Continue until everyone has had a chance to play the fun game.
(36) Ahead of time you will need to freeze blocks of ice in several colors by
adding food coloring. Place all colors in your sensory table.
