what a wonderful treat and trip down memory lane. I was in Girl Scouts for 22 years, from troop leader at all levels to trainer in the outdoor program. Had guitar, always traveled. 20 years ago I went to work full time and most of that ceased, and tho I missed it, too much filled my life. I am so surprised to find that I remember the words to all the songs. One happy memory to share, re:the song Tumbalalaika. Tho this is a Yiddish tune, it was the absolutely perfect beat for us to do tinikiling, (Phillipine wedding dance done with long bamboo poles). We never found another song to work as well, and at Day Camp, the girls sang the Yiddish words. Quite an unusual meld, which we were always sure to explain. Thank You for a well done site, I will return again soon. Wish we had had this avenue open to us in my hey day! I could have had a songbook online! Thanks again.

Hi...I've gotten the big book out on Mattern's to copy the info on Catherine Himes Haas desendants for you. There are MANY pages so I will copy only the info. on her children and the lists of their children. If you want more detailed info. you can let me now. (it's several hundred pages...no charts. And it's only thru maybe the 1970's) It's cool and rainy here in the high mts. of N.M. Don't know if I told you we built an unusual house made of old tire, cans, etc. called an Earthship. It's really very lovely (walls are adobed over anc you can't tell what's underneath. One of the best parts is the front of the house is all glass, facing south...and it's a greenhouse!. we grow all sorts of things all year long...last Christmas we picked papaya off one of our trees...it was below 0 ourside! We used 1/4 cord of wood for the whole winter. We are on solar elec. too. It's a very nice way to live in harmony with Mother Nature!
