Mary Airth & Robert McLaren


Mary AIRTH was born Oct 30 1835 in Horton Township Renfrew Ontario,
the youngest child of Sgt Henry AIRTH & Marion PARK
who had been married Jan 29 1813 in Glasgow Lanark Scotland.

Robert McLAREN was born Dec 12 1827 in McNab Township,
the son of James & Catherine McLAREN,
who had come to Canada on the ship Niagara in 1825,
the same ship as my own McLAREN ancestor, Malcolm of Balquhidder.

~ There is no known connection at this point ~

Mary & Robert had 6 children, all born in Horton Township:

1) James born Mar 20 1863 / died Oct 11 1869
2) Henry born Jun 7 1865 / died Oct 23 1869
What a sad time for the little family
when their first 2 infants died within days of each other :-(

3) John Barr born Jul 30 1866
married abt 1889 to Elizabeth CAMPBELL (11 children)
(Elizabeth was the daughter of James CAMPBELL & Janet McNEVIN)
John Barr died Feb 27 1929

4) Robert Airth born Jul 24 1868
married 1st on Jan 8 1892 to Elizabeth BARR
married late 1893 to his 1st cousin, Frances Wright JAMIESON (children)
(Frances was the daughter of Alexander JAMIESON & Catherine AIRTH

5) Donald Alexander born Apr 7 1871 / died 1946

5) William Duncan born 1878
married abt 1904 Annie I McVEAN (2 children)
William died 1953 in Winnipeg Manitoba

Robert died Oct 6 1909
Mary died Mar 2 1910.

Mary AIRTH & Robert McLAREN were my 2X GR Grand Aunt & Uncle !!
