Alexander & Christian had 5 children, all christened at Croftcarnoch Blair Atholl:
1) Duncan chr May 24 1747,
married Isobell McLAUGHLAN on Dec 25 1770 in Carrick Blair Atholl
Duncan & Isobell had 5 children:
Christian (died), Janet, Christian (died), Christian, Isobell
2) John chr Apr 1st 1750,
married Christian DOUGLAS on Nov 26 1776 in Dull
John & Christian had 7 children.
This STEWART family lived north of Loch Tummel at Borenich,
which was very close to Croftcarnoch.
Borenich, meaning 'a house in the ferns',
was a community which flourished until the early years of the 19th century
and by 1900, most of the settlements had been deserted and eventually disappeared.

Alexander & Isobell had 11 children:

4) Neil chr Jun 15 1755, married Janet FRASER in Nov 1780 in Tomanbuie.
Janet was the daughter of John FRASER and Isobell STEWART.
Neil & Janet had 4 children:
Alexander, John, Duncan, Christian
Neil & Janet's eldest son, Alexander, was chr Jan 6 1782 in Blair Atholl.
He married Elizabeth STEWART in 1809 in Bailintepail Blair Atholl.
I have their 8 children born between 1811 to 1829.
5) James chr May 18 1760,
married Isobell STEWART on Jul 6 1792 in Uchdnanateg Blair Atholl.
James & Isobell had 7 children:
Alexander, Margaret, Donald, John, Christina, Isobell, William
Alexander & Isobell's youngest, William chr Jun 26 1811,
married Christian STEWART of Chamberbane in 1849.
They had 3 sons:
John, Alexander, Donald
In the 1851 CENSUS,
William (farmer) & Christian are shown living at Croftdouglas on 7.5 acres,
with their 4 month old on John.
For the most part, these STEWARTs were farmers.

Alexander & Christian's last child was born in May 18 1760.
A baby girl, Margaret, was born Dec 5 1760,
her father stated to be Alexander STEWART,
'a married man of Croftcarnoch' !!
What a shock for Christian STEWART, just 7 months after her own baby's birth !!
They were my GR GR GR GR grandparents !
Alexander was descended from the Stewarts of Duntanlich, Drumcharry and Garth,
thereby having Royal Connections of the 'illegitimate ilk'....
