Notes for Theophilus T. GOODWIN

Theophilus was a farmer by trade and in religion a baptist, was raised in
South Carolina. At the age of eight he migrated with his family to South
Carolina. In 1834 he and Nancy set out for Alabama. The land they
settled was new territory which had just been open after the Creek Indian
War. Five of the children stayed behind in South Carolina (Silas,
Soloman, Sanford and John). Theopilus settled in the Mud Creek area.
