Notes for Benjamin BALCH

[Famtree.ftw]

He was born during the severe winter of 1628 -1629, which followed the
arrival of Endicott. On 10 April 1706, he gives his age as 77 in a
deposition. His independence of the rigid, puritanical notions of the
times are illustrated by the fact that he was arrested and fined for
giving a night's lodging to a stranger on foot.

He left the baptism of his children to their own decisions. His will was
executed on 31 January 1714/5.

He was part of the Foot Company of Beverly in 1677.
