Mississippi Territory in 1817. On February 7, 1818, the Territory
Legislature created Cahaba County. Alabama became a state on Dec 14,

Territory in 1817.

Young and his brother David, along with Richard Bird Sr. with the

County. this land would later become Bibb County and at the present is
Chilton County, in and around the town of Maplesville, Alabama.

Young is buried in the Goodwin Cemetery in Maplesville. This cemetery is
well kept. Fifteen Goodwin's are buried there, including Julius Goodwin

Young was a wealthy man at his death. his will shows that he gave 38
Negroes plus $3000 to his children. This was in addition to the
remainder of his estate which he left to his wife.
