I yawn, have a stretch, and step outside. It's the beginning of another
day and Amy's father has just let me, Alfie, and Pebbles outside.
After having a sniff and doing my business, Amy walks out the back door
and calls me for breakfast. Not that she needs to call me, though, because
I am right there waiting! I gobble down my food as fast as I possibly can;
didn't you know that an abominable snowman might jump out of the bushes and
steal my food? Anyway, I usually have a game of chasey with Pebbles before
Amy comes to take us for our morning run through the paddocks. Often after
that I have a big sleep in the sun, unless, of course, something interesting
happens. We're usually allowed inside in the afternoon, but if it's raining
we're inside all day. I like to be outside when the weather's fine; it's
much more interesting out there for a puppy like me! After eating what Amy
calls lunch (I don't think it's fair, they eat three meals a day and I only
get two!), she and her sister take us for a walk to the end of our road,
they often call it, 'getting the mail'. Amy's very strict on making me
'heel', I don't know why, but I don't mind obeying because I want to please
her. After that I help Amy in the garden,
but sometimes she doesn't seem to like my help. I don't know why. She picked
some lovely carrots the other day, they were delicious! More sleep and play
comes next, until Amy's dad comes home from 'work'. We all are fed 'dinner'
and that is my favourite meal of the day because we often have pasta,
vegetables, rice, or raw meat as well as our normal food. My evenings are
spent on Amy's lap, then it's outside again before I go to bed. It's not
a bad life is it? Amy says that I landed on my feet when I came here.
