I was born in a place not too far from here, and my mother wasn't all that attentive to my sister and I. When I was six weeks old I was taken away to a family who looked after me for two weeks, but then they didn't want me anymore. So back I went to my old home.
One afternoon some people came, a baby, two girls and a mother. They talked to my master, saying that they had phoned earlier about two chihuahua puppies. I took one look at them and loved them instantly. One of the girls called me and I went running to her. She picked me up and looked me over carefully. "Mum," she said to the mother, "look at her head. She's missing some hair and it's flaking a bit". The mother looked carefully.
"It's not serious, and she's pretty healthy otherwise, but she looks a bit wormy and thin. She's got a lovely nature, though, so I think it's worth buying her." The baby started giggling at me and I ran up to say hello to her. Very gently she patted me, and giggled even more. "We'll have to buy her now!" the girl who had picked me up said. The mother gave the man some coloured paper, and the girl picked me up and put her in their car. We drove off, and while we were driving the girl told me that she was my new master. She told me that the baby's name was Bethany, the other girl's name was Gemma, the mother's name was Mum, and her name was Amy. I learned that there were two other dogs for me to meet, as well as some other animals.
On the way home we stopped at a shop. Mum and Amy left, and soon came out carrying a collar and a food bowl.
We reached home, and I was placed in a pen lined with newspaper with a basket filled with clean, warm blankets. "I'm sure we've got some puppy worming tablets somewhere," Amy said, "I'll go look for them." A few minutes later she came back and gave me a yummy piece of chocolate. "There, that will get rid of all your worms. It's a good thing that they're chocolate flavoured, isn't it?" she told me. Just then a man walked in. "Dad! Come and meet Jessie, our new dog!" exclaimed Gemma. "Hello, Jessie," he said, "it's nice to meet you."
After a nice meal I curled up in my basket and went to sleep. I knew right from the start that this was the home for me.
