The Eleventh Hour

The 11th Hour
by Graeme Base

This book is not a Hoosier nor Newberry Award Winner, but it wins Christopher's Award! The Eleventh Hour is one of the best family entertainment activities our family has had. Every family with children of all ages should have The Eleventh Hour in their library. You will spend hours of fun together looking for clues and trying to solve the mystery. A great gift idea for the family that has everything!

Horace is turning eleven and plans a party for his friends. He bakes eleven delicious desserts and prepares a fabulous feast. He plans eleven games to be played before they eat the feast, but when his guests arrive to the banquet hall after the games are finished, the food is gone! Who could have eaten all that food? Clues are on every page to help you discover the thief. Some are easy to find, others you must hunt. But in the end, there is only one possible solution to who could have committed the crime! And then when the puzzle is solved, Mr. Base gives you two more tasks!

This book could be read to toddlers because the story is cute. The mystery will be enjoyed by children of all ages (even grandparents) who love the challenge of solving puzzles! This book is 5 stars 5 stars (highly recommended:-) for all and can be purchased on line through Amazon.
