No Jumping on the Bed!
No Jumping on the Bed! by Tedd Arnold is a book Kirsten found at the library. The last thing Walter's father says to him when he tucks him in is "no jumping on your bed." As Walter settles down, he hears Delbert upstairs jumping on his bed. Walter decides that if Delbert can jump on his bed, well, so can he! He jumps higher and higher and higher . . . until the bed and Walter crash through the floor. They live in a very tall apartment building. Walter and his bed crash through each floor taking the occupant with him until he reaches the basement. ![]() Yes, Kirsten and I have been known to jump on our beds. Even our parents have admitted to comitting this childhood sin! I perfected my mid-air somersault this way. But this is a silly story, crashing through floors and all. Maybe this is the author's way to tell kids to not jump on the bed, because bad things can happen. Kirsten is only six and she knew you can't jump so hard you can fall through the floor.
