I have included various spellings in this will index and will abstracts in the
event that an error may have been made in transcribing the surnames.
Also, in those days a lot of our ancestors did not know how to spell their
names. Often clerks would spell the name the way they thought it should
be spelled.

I have also included some will extracts of non-Sowder/Souder's, but where
there was a reference in the will to a Sowder/Souder, or one of the other
various spellings. Usually this reference was to a daughter who had married
a Souder/Sowder.
