Mrs. Annie Susan Souder - 11 Oct. 1970
Mrs. Annie Susan Souder, wife of Raymond
R. Souder, 410 Biggs Avenue, died at the Frederick Memorial Hospital
on Sunday. Born near Waterford, Virginia on January 30, 1902, she
was the daughter of the late William Oscar and Carrie Follin Leigh.
Surviving are her husband Raymond R. Souder,
one daughter, Mrs. Carl L. Culler of Frederick, three brothers, Homer Leigh,
Hamilton, Va., Howard Leigh, Leesbury, Va., Carl Leigh, Webster, N.Y.,
one sister, Mrs. Leon Pierpoint, Hamilton, Va, two grandchildren. Susan
Ann Culler and Stephen Lee Culler, several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Souder was a member of the Good Shepherd
Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Anulette Souder - 3/3/39
Funeral services for Mrs. Anulette Souder,
widow of Philip H. Souder, who died at her home in Lovettsville, Va., Saturday
were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. For several years preceding
her death she was an invalid. She was aged 85 years.
A daughter of the late Charles and Ara Ann
Slater Hough, she was a resident of the Lovettsville community all of her
life. She is survived by two daughters Mrs. J. D. Brown and Mrs.
H. C. McKimmey, Lovettsville, and one son, George Souder, Washington.
Five grandchildren also survive.
The funeral was held in the New Jerusalem
Lutheran church of which she was a member. . . . .

Alberta C. Souder - 8/2/45 (wife of George M. Souder)
Mrs. Alberta Catherine Souder formerly of Lovettsville,
Va., died at the home of her son, Raymond R. Souder
near Jefferson at 11:30 a.m. Monday after an illness of three weeks.
Aged 74 years, she was the daughter of the
late Jonas and Ellen Stoneburner Slater and was a member of the Tankersville,
Va., Lutheran Church.
Surviving her are her son Raymond Souder,
one sister, Miss Nellie Slater, Taylorstown, Va., and one granddaughter,
Virginia Souder, near Jefferson.

Charles Michael Souder, well known retired farmer, formerly of Lovettsville, VA., but for the past 16 months a resident of 20 West Twelfth street, died suddenly at the Frederick City Hospital Monday evening three hours after having been stricken with a heart attack. He was aged 71 years and was a son of the late John W. and Susan James Souder. Mr. Souder was a member of St. James Reformed church, Lovettsville, and for over 20 years was on the Consistory. He had engaged in farming his entire adult life and retired August a year ago when he moved to this city. He was a member of the board of directors of the Bank of Brunswick. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Dora V. Titus Souder; two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Beatty, at home; Mrs. Horace Taylor, Richmond, Va. Three sisters, Mrs. Frank Fry, Jefferson; Miss Grace Souder and Mrs. Melva Conard, both of Lovettsville, and a brother Clifford Souder, Purcellville, Va., also survive along with two grandchildren, Virginia Lois Beatty, at home, and Michael Terrence Taylor, Richmond.

Mrs. Dora Virginia Souder, widow of Charles
M. Souder, 20 West 12th Street, died at Vindobona Convalescent and
Rest Home, Braddock Heights Tuesday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock after an
illness of three months, aged 78 years.
She was a daughter of the late Burr and Virginia
Hauser Titus and a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ, Lovettsville,
Va.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy
? Beatty, at home and Mrs. Horace H. Taylor, Little Rock, Ark.; two brothers
and a sister, Lee F. Titus, near Brunswick; Towns Titus, Jefferson and
Mrs. Charles M. Fry, near Point of Rocks. Two grandchildren and a
number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services were held on Saturday morning
at 10 o'clock for George M. Souder, 67, Lovettsville, Va.; who died on
Thursday morning at his late home. The services were conducted by
his pastor, Rev. A. S. Peeler, assisted by Rev. A. F. Tobler.
He was the son of the late John W. and Elizabeth
James Souder and had lived in the community all his life. He was
a member of St. James Reformed church, a member of the Reformed Consistory,
Modern Woodmen, Jr. O. U. A. M. and the Farmer's Club.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bertie
Slater Souder, a son, Raymond, near Jefferson,
three sisters, Mrs. Frank Fry, Jefferson; Mrs. Joseph Conard, Miss Grace
Souder, Lovettsville; three brothers, Clifton Souder; Purcellville, John
W., Richmond; Charles, Lovettsville. . . . . Interment
was in Union Cemetery, Lovettsville.
Miss Grace Ailene Souder - 16 Mar 1963
Miss Grace Ailene Souder of Lovettsville died
on Friday at the Loudoun County Hospital aged 82 years.
She was a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth
James Souder.
She is survived by a nephew, James Conard,
with whom she lived and several other nieces and nephews.
She was a member of St. James United Church
of Christ in Lovettsville.

Mrs. Inez P. Souder - 25 Oct 1971
Mrs. Inez Paxson Souder, 87, Clearwater, Fla.,
died Monday in Florida. Born in Loudoun County, Va., she was a daughter
of the late John and Virginia Paxson and the widow of Herbert Souder.
She had been a resident of the District of Columbia for many years
and had resided in Clearwater since August. She was a retired employee
of Kann's Department Store in Washington, D.C.
Surviving her are one son, Herbert P. Souder,
Clearwater, Fla., one grandson, Richard B. Souder, Clearwater, Fla., one
sister, Mrs. Grace Hickman, Point of Rocks and a number of nieces and nephews.

John William Souder - 9/30/38
After a long illness John William Souder, of
Richmond, Va., died on September 18, at the age of 65 years, four months
and eight days as a result of a complication of diseases.
Mr. Souder, a son of the late John W. and
Elizabeth James Souder was born and reared near Lovettsville, Loudoun County,
Va. He has resided in Richmond for a number of years where he was
employed as auditor and bookkeeper in the Agricultural department of the
Virginia State government and recognized by those under and with whom he
labored as being very efficient in his work.
At the time of his death he was confined to
a hospital in Baltimore where he had been for sometime undergoing treatment.
Mr. Souder leaves his widow, Mrs. Cora Hightman
Souder, of Richmond; two brothers., M. C., of Purcellville, Va., and Charles
M. Souder of Lovettsville, Va., and three sisters, Miss Grace A. Souder
and Mrs. Melva Conard, of Lovettsville, and Mrs. Frank Frye of Jefferson.
His remains were laid to rest in Forest Park cemetery, Richmond, September
20. His brothers and sisters attended.
Joseph Clinton Souder - 1/14/44
Joseph Clinton Souder, highly respected retired farmer of Lovettsville, died Monday morning at Schnauffer Hospital, Brunswick, age 82 years. He had been sick since Christmas and was removed to the hospital about ten days ago, suffering with ??? and infirmities. He was the son of the late Philip and Rebecca Frye Souder and his wife Mrs. Susan Malinda Slater Souder predeceased him eight years ago. He had lived alone in Lovettsville since her death. He was a member of St James Reformed Church. He is survived by the following nephews and nieces: Carl Spring, Washington and Otho Spring, C. Bernard Spring, Earl Spring, Raymond Chinn and Miss Maudie Chinn, all of Lovettsville. Funeral service Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Lovettsville funeral home conducted by Rev. N. H. Fravel. Interment in the Reformed cemetery near Lovettsville. R. E. Brown, funeral director.

Mr. Raymond R. Souder, husband of the late
Annie
Susan Leigh Souder, who resided with his son-in-law and daughter, Mr.
and Mrs. Carl L. Culler, 102 Mount Olivet Blvd., died at the Frederick
Memorial Hospital, Sunday morning, Jan 28. He was born in Loudoun
County, Virginia on Dec. 4, 1896, the son of the late George M. and Bertie
Slater Souder. Mr. Souder was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran
Church and a charter member of the Jefferson Ruritan Club. Mr. Souder
moved from Loudoun County to Jefferson in 1937 and farmed in that area
until 1948. Prior to his retirement in 1966 he was employed at Sharpes
Florist's.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Carl L. Culler,
with whom he lived, two grandchildren, Susan Ann Culler, Stephen Lee Culler
and several nieces and nephews. He was the last of his immediate
family.
