9. James⁷ Cobb (Sgt.) (Henry⁶, Henry⁵, Richard⁴, Alexander³, Thomas², John¹) was born in Barnstable or Plymouth, MA 1/14/1634. James died 1695 in Barnstable, MA.

He married Sarah Lewis in Barnstable, MA, 12/26/1663. Sarah was born in Barnstable, MA 2/2/1642/3. She was the daughter of George Lewis and Sarah Jenkins. She married Jonathan Sparrow (Capt.) in Barnstable, MA, 11/23/1698. Sarah died 2/11/1735 in Barnstable, MA, at 93 years of age.

James Cobb (Sgt.) and Sarah Lewis had the following children:

19 i. Elizabeth⁸ Cobb was born before 2/4/1701, the first event for which there is a recorded date. She married Joseph Cole in Duxbury, MA, 2/4/1701.

+ 20 ii. James Cobb Jr was born 7/8/1673.
