John JOHNSTON was born on 9 Jan 1779 in North Carolina. He died on 17 Dec 1857 in Lawrence County, Tennessee and was buried in St. Truitt's Cem, Lawrence County, Tennessee. Although living with son, King Johnston in Madison Co., Arkansas in 1850, he apparently died in Lawrence Co., Tennessee, where his will was probated as he is buried there in St. Truitt Cemetery beside his wife. Letters of Administration with the will annexed were granted to Samuel C. Johnston, Sr. in 1858 to settle estate.
