At an Ecclesiastical Court holden at Ramsey June 12th 1812:

Ann Mylecharane als Quayle of KK Michael having departed this life

on or about the 18th of May last past intestate, the court having

received intelligence thereof hath decreed her eight children namely John,

Phillip, Thomas, Charlotte, Margaret, Jane, Catharine, and Elizabeth

Mylecharane

co-administators of all and singular her goods rights credits

chattels and effects moveable and immoveable whatever. John, Phillip,

Charlotte, Jane, Margaret, and Catharine aforesaid being at the age have

given up their right of administrations to there father who is there upon

sworn guardian and supervisor of Thos and Elizabeth who are under age

and in trust for them will and truly to administer the estate of the

intestate to exhibit a full accurate and perfect inventory thereof into the

Episcopal Registry to pay all her just debts as far forth as the goods will

extend and the law bind him and to these ends he hath given pledges in

form of law namely Patrick Cannell and John Mylcharane, the said Patrick

Cannell and John Mylcharane are sworn guardians and supervisors

of the children under age. Decretum est Thos Cubbon.

Whereas Ann Mylecharane of the parish of Kirk Michael (Late wife

of Philip Mylecharane of said parish) departed this life on or about

the 18th day of May instant intestate and entitled to certain personal

effects which are now become the property of her children namely John,

Philip, Charlotte, Margaret Jane and Catharine Mylecharane who are at

lawful age and Thomas and Elizabeth Mylecharane who are under age -

Whereas the said children to relinquish and surrender their respective

shares of the goods and effects of their said deceased mother unto their

father the said Philip Mylecharane. Wherefore know all Men by these presents

that we the said John, Philip, Charlotte, Margaret Jane and Catharine

Mylecharane the children at age aforesaid for and in

consideration of the engagements on the part of our said father as herein after

mentioned do hereby surrender relinguish and give up our respective shares of

all and singular the goods, rights, credits, chattles and effects

whatever of our said deceased mother Ann Mylecharane unto our father the said

Philip Mylecharane his executors and assigns forever and do as far as we

are severally concerned authorized and empower our said father to

take out letters of administation to the estate of our said mother

deceased. And the said Philip Mylecharane doth in consideration of the above

relinquishment bind himself his executors administrators and

assigns to pay or cause to be paid the funeral expences and just debts of

the said Ann Myleharane so far as the said children at age might be

subject to -

For the true performance whereof the parties do hereby bind

themselves their respective executors administrators and assigns under a

penalty of one hundred pounds British. As witness their names and marks this

Ballaugh who from due consideration of the uncertainty of this

transistory life do make this my last will and testament in manner

following: I commit my soul to God and my b ody to Christian

I leave and bequeath to my son John the sum of one pound as

legacy if he comes to the Isle of Man to claim it.

I leave and bequeath to my son Thomas his heirs and assigns my

whole right and title and interest of and unto a certain parcel of

intack land situated in the parish of Lezayre which I purchased from Wm

Charles Cowle of the parish of Andreas, being by admeasurement the one

sixteenth part of the said part or enclosure cornmonly called and

known by the name of "Carrin1' as legacy, and it is hereby declared

that my said son Thomas pay as consideration for the aforesaid premises the

sum of five pounds sterling to and for the use of my grand daughter Ann

Corlett.

I leave and bequeath to my daughter Catherine Corlett the sum of

twenty pounds sterling which said sum is to be paid out of the money due

me from my son John as per agreement and not out of my other

personal estate, and also I leave and bequeath to my said daughters

Catherine her heirs and assigns my whole right and title of in and unto a

certain parcel

of intack land situated in the parish o Lezayre which I purchased

from my brother Thomas Mylechraine being by admeasurement the one

thirtysecond part of the said part or enclosure commonly called

and known by the name of "Carrin" as legacy and it is hereby declared

that my said daughter Catherine her heirs and assigns pay as

consideration for the said premises the sum of five pounds sterling to and for

the use of my grand daughter Ann Corlett.

I leave and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth the sum of thirty

pounds sterling which said sum is to be paid out of the money due me

from my son John (as per agreement) and not out of my other personal

estate and also a bed and bedding as legacy.

Lastly J nominate constitute and appoint my daughter Margaret

whole and sole executrix and residuary legatee of all the rest of my goods,

cash, credits, and effects moveable and immoveable whatsoever. In

testimony whereof I hereunto subscribe my name this the 4th day of November

1862.

At a Chapter Court held in Ramsey on the 24th day of April 1863.

Thomas Caley and Thomas Quayle the subscribed witnesses to the foregoing

paper written purporting to be the last will and testament of John

Mylecraine deceased having made oath upon the Holy Evangelists

that said John Mylecraine the testator when of sound and disposing

mind memory and understanding duly signed and executed the same to and

for his last will and testament in their presence - Margaret

Mylecraine spinster the sole executrix in said will named is therefore sworn

well and truly to fulfill and execute the same and to administer an and

singular the personal estate and effects of said deceased

according to law by paying the just debts and funeral expenses of the deceased

and the legacies contained in his will as far forth as the same will

thereto extend and the law bind her and to return unto the Archdeacon's

Registry a full true and perfect inventory of all and singular the said

estate and effects with an accurate account of her administration thereof

when thereunto lawfully required and to these ends she hath given

pledges namely Thomas Corlett of Croit y Curry and Thomas Mylechraine of

Close Taggart both in the parish of Ballaugh who have entered into and

executed the usual bond in presence of the court. PROBATUM EST

Whereas John Mylecraine of the parish of Ballaugh did by his last

will and and testament bearing date the 4th day of November 1862

amongst other bequests leave a legacy of one pound as legacy to his son

John if he comes to the Isle of Man to claim it.

And whereas at a Chapter Court he]d in Ramsey on the 24th day of

April 1863 the said will was duly proved and probated thereof granted to

Margaret Mylecraine the executrix in said will named.

Now know all men by these presents that I the said John

Mylecraine do hereby own and acknowledge to have received from the said

executrix Margaret Mylecraine the sum of one pound sterling lawful] money in

full payment satisfaction and discharge of my aforesaid legacy And I do

hereby exonerate release acquit and discharge the said executrix

Margaret Mylecraine her executors and administrators the estate

of the said deceadent and every person whomsoever, of and from any

further claim or demand on account of my aforesaid legacy of one pound and

every part thereof And I do by these present desire that the

said legacy be and stand cancelled on the said will on record as witness my

subscription this 24th days of October in the year of our Lord 1863.

Liverpool spinster doth hereby own and acknowledge to have received from

Thomas Mylechraine of the parish of Andrew's and Thomas Corlett of the

parish Ballaugh and Catherine his wife the sum of five pounds each (from

the said Tho Mylechraine and Catherine Corlett) being the amounts of

two certain pecuniary legacies bequeathed to the said Ann Corlett in

and by the will of her late grandfather John Mylechraine of the parish of

Ballaugh deceased dated the 4th day of November 1862 and only

proved on the 24 day of April 1863 and directed to be paid by the said

Thomas Mylechraine and Catherine Corlett

on obtaining possesion of certain lands called Carrin in the

parish of Lezayre and the said Ann Corlett doth hereby acquit and discharge

the said Thomas Mylechraine and Ann Corlett and their several heirs

and assigns and the said land and premises from all claims and demand

in respect of the said legacies or charges and doth direct the same

to be and stand cancelled upon record.
