Notes for Gerald K. Craine

Enjoyed books by Zane Gray - Received, Riders of Purple Sage in 1911 from his sister Delpha.  We have the original book given to him in our family.

    He was all things cowboy.

While plowing his field he pulled John Dillenger from ditch in Lincoln, Minnesota after the Wisconsin shoot out. Dillenger gave him $2.00.  Before he went back to plowing his field, he said that as he was walking back to his team, John Dillenger had gone down the road,  turned around driving by again he believed to check to see if he was on his back to the house to report the incident to authorities. (as told by his son Lynn)

Came to North Dakota to work on the Berg farm, where he met Esther during the 1920's
