Noted from genealogy that was sent to me by Judie A. Abson:

Philip received first communion October 29, 1832 on board the ship "Sarah".

Philip, Esther and 5 of their children sailed to Australia on the ship "Sarah".  Esther was at the time pregnant with their sixth child.

On board the same ship was Esther's sister Ann, her husband Robert Morton and their five children.  The "Sarah" arrived in Sydney Harbour on October 29, 1832 and on that same day Esther gave birth to Elizabeth.

They were met at the landing by Esther's sisters Jane and Mary who had been transported for stealing goods to the value of 10 pounds 6 and 6 pence.  They had arrived in Sydney on board the "Mary" on October 18, 1823.  Thus the four sisters were reunited.

Settled at Parramatta with Esther's sister Jane until 1834, then moved to Hassans Walls near Bowenfels.

In 1835 Philip bought 84 acres of land from William Orrell who had bought it rom William Ackhurst in 1833.  Ackhurst had obtained the land as a Government Grant to ex-soldiers.

In 1838 was granted the license for the "Eagle and Child" Inn and held it until it was transferred to his eldest son James in 1847.

Following the death of both Philip and James in 1852, the license transferred to Esther in April 1853.
