Welcome to PAQ Show and Share Page two
These are all of Val's Pictures. She has done a beautiful job.

This was my entry in our State Fair, 1993. I was so excited I made my husband go with me to the fair just to see if I had won. It was a very hot day, over 100, and a weekend. We had an hour drive to get there. It is a Diamond Log Cabin Christmas Tree Skirt. This pattern is HUGE. Someday I would like to do another Diamond Log Cabin, but not in a tree skirt. Almost forgot,I WON!

This is my second Bargello. The treeskirt was my very first entry in the State Fair, and this was my second. I won another ribbon. I was so excited! This one is 12 shades of Blues. This one is for my oldest daughter Jeannette. It is more of a full size quilt. I

This is another round robin,May '97.
I am the one on the end
with the Lighthouse. I wanted it
to look like Currituck Lighthouse
on the Outer Banks. My very first
lighthouse, to see and to climb.
Sharon did little ships around
it on the last border. The first
round robin was Jan.'96.

I would like to share this one with you. After my dad died 6/17/97, I asked mom if I could take some of dads shirts and make a small quilt for her. She agreed. While mom was here with me for Thanksgiving, I got it done. It was supposed to be a small throw, but it ened up as a queen. There is a picture in the center of the quilt, it is my dad. The shirt he is wearing, is also in the quilt, the white with a small blue print on it. The one in the corners of the quilt. This goes on the bed in the Blue Room, as mom calls it. It was fun working on it. The little guy on the couch is my oldest grandson,Bradley. Someday this quilt will go to him. It is all written on the back of the quilt. I have heard of people doing this, and it is a great treasure to keep. Val

This is my oldest grandson,Bradley, when he was 2. I saw this picture in a catalog, and I liked it. I have to go for lots of pieces. Bradley has a super twin. Just in the top squares there are 1152 pieces. There are triangles and 4 patches, this is what makes the large block, a 4 patch. Made this in 9/95.
This is the second quilt I ever made,
the Lovers Knot, 8/93. This one went to
Jeannette again. My girls got pillow
shams with the quilts and table covers.
Jennifer did get curtains with
her Bargello. This is another queen.

This is a Primitive Heart. I did this in 7/94. It was for my mom and dad's 50th Anniversary. I worked so hard on this one. Jean was on a business trip and I would sew all night after I got home from work. Sometimes till about 4 in the morning. Called in sick and sewed all day long. It had to get to the quilter by a certain time. So, I juess you can say I sewed till I was sick, sick in the head. Will never do that again. I found the best way to sew was with some silly movies. It worked. This is also a queen.

This Radiant Star, 1/95 was a wedding gift. These are the same colors I used in my 2nd Bargello. I had enough scraps to use in it. Tricia hangs this one on her wall. the top fits a queen. Would fit a full really nice. I did the machine quilting on this one. Boy what a job that was!
I saw this panel of a deer and it reminded
me of my younger brother. Neil is a hunter
and goes deer hunting every season. I saw this
hanging in the store and fell in love with it.
The large tabs are to be hung by a tree branch.
Very rustic. There are prairie points on it,
but only one end is sewn in. They are loose.
Sure added demintion. This was 12/98.

This Tumbling Block, 11/94, was a killer. I made this for a lady I was working with, it was a customer of hers. Once you learn the secret it is really easy, they are diamond and triangle shapes. It sure took time to get one done. One row at a time. When I had the pattern I had to make copies of it and sit and color it for a while. Then it all fell into place. Sometimes I find it necessary to sit and color. It sure works for me.

This one I did in '96 for my one sister in law. She made me an afgan, so I made her a quilt. It is just a throw when you are on the couch. It is a 6 color Trip Around the World. I would love to do a 24 color trip out of flannel for my bed, but the squares are alot smaller.
