ZELLEY, Daniel-79 HEADS OF FAMILIES

DESCENDENTS FROM SEVENTY NINE EARLY IMIGRANT HEADS OF FAMILIES, by Elston, James Strode FHC 973/D2el Volume 1 127p. Index DANIEL (ZELLEY)
DANIEL (ZELLEY), progenitor of all bearing the surname Zelley in America,
married 9 mo., 1725 Damaris Butcher at Burlington, New Jersey, daughter of John
Butcher of Lillingston, Lowell, county of Oxon., England, carpenter and Damaris
Wickens of Paulers Perry, Northhmptonshire, England, Spinster, who were married 7
mo. 4, 1682 at Biddleston, Bucks, England.-- (For the version that Damaris was the
daughter of John Butcher and Mary Walker, which seems better to me, see under
"Butcher".)-- Daniel and Damaris Zelley bought land of John Butcher near 'Slab-town',
now Jacksonville in Springfield township, Burlington County and settled thereon. Two
children were born to them: John and Sylvanus.
