What To Name The Baby

Aunt mary, a no-nonsense traditionalist, had named her six children Kathy, Bob, Bill, Pat, Jim and Beth. Much too ordinary for me, I thought, and anticipated a lecture when I told her I planned on naming my first child Emerson.
"Let me tell you how to name babies," said Aunt Mary. "Go to the back door and yell the name at the top of your lungs a half dozen times.
That's how you're going to hear it for the next 15 years. If you still like it, use it."
I named the baby Jeffrey.
