December 30, 1998 Update:

MORE GOOD NEWS!!!!
Katie made her trip to Mayo Clinic on December 14th for her scheduled checkup and follow up to check on the spots in her lung. We are happy to report, again, that there is no sign of growth in the spots (this means it is probably scar tissue from the last cancer).
Katie is still feeling great and was able to celebrate Christmas this year. She received many gifts from the wonderful people who stop by these pages to offer her their support. That made her a pretty happy little girl.
Katie is scheduled for another checkup in 3 months. She is shooting for breaking her longest remission record of 8 months. This time she wants it to be forever! Once again thank you all so much for all you care, prayers and gifts. You probably do not know how much joy those thoughtful gestures bring an ailing, frightened child. It is a wonderful thing to see.
