September 25, 1998 Update:

GOOD NEWS!!!!
Katie made to Mayo Clinic for her scheduled checkup and follow up to check on the spots in her lung. We are happy to report that there is no sign of growth in the spots (this means it is probably scar tissue from the last cancer).
That's ok, you can do a somersault, high five and kick up your heels and "Praise the Lord!" We all did. Katie has gained 6 pounds this summer and is feeling very well (all things considered). She is even getting hair. It isn't very long but it is full it looks like it will be darker than the beautiful blond she was so proud of - but it looks so beautiful. I think it is going to be quite curly. Her doctors were shocked that she is doing so well. I guess that's what happens when you have over 10,000 people praying for you. The power of prayer - isn't it magnificent. Thanks also to Harry Chambers and his friend, John Van Drie for their dowsing efforts. We wouldn't know what to point at and say - "this is what made it happen" but since those 12,000 people praying and Harry's dowsing gift are all the Lord's instruments. We thank the Lord for giving us this wonderful report.
Katie is scheduled for another checkup in December. Keep up with your prayers. The damage done by the Chemo can not be undone so Katie is still in a fragile condition - but she is getting stronger every day and she is one very happy little girl today. Katie is also back in school. Click here to visit her classroom.
Once again thank you all so much for all you care, prayers and gifts. You probably do not know how much joy those thoughtful gestures bring an ailing, frightened child. It is a wonderful thing to see.
