HOLY DAYS OF OBLIGATION

Telephone calls to the Parish Office indicate that there is a measure of confusion regarding Holy Days of Obligation. This year, The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception on December 8th, The Solemnity of Christmas on December 25th, and the
Feast of Mary, Mother of God on January 1st of 1998 ARE HOLY DAYS OF OBLIGATION: Catholics are obliged to do their best to participate in the Sacred Liturgy.

THE SCHEDULE OF MASSES FOR THE FEAST OF MARY, MOThER OF GOD, IS 5:00 P.M. ON WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 31st AND AT 8:00A.M. AND 10:00A.M. ON THURSDAY, JANUARY 1ST

You may recall that in 1991, the U.S. Bishops voted to lift the obligation of attending Mass for U.S. Catholics on three specific Holy Days whenever they occur on Saturday or Monday:

FEAST OF MARY,MOTHER OF GOD on JANUARY lst
FEAST OF ASSUMPTION on AUGUST 15th
FEAST OF ALL SAINTS on NOVEMBER 1st

PARISH OFFICE CLOSINGS
The Parish Office will close at 2:00P.M. on Wednesday, December 31st and will reopen at 9:00 A.M. on January 2nd.

Thank you to all who bought Christmas Cookies or sent Cookie-Grams to help support Nativity's Youth Group. It is because of your generous support that our young people are able to participate in many retreats, programs, and church activities that only strengthen their religious background. The smiles given from the many who received unexpected Cookie Grams were a definite sign that Christ is among us this Christmas Season. God Bless!

Our Parish Community is grateful to everyone who contributed their time and talent to enhance our experience of Advent and our celebration of Christmas. Together we journey deeper and deeper into the Mystery of the Sacred.

The Parish is grateful to the Saint Anne's Guild for their generous gift which has been earmarked to help with the expense associated with the renovated heating and air
conditioning system. Thank you very much!
