IE 4.0 http1.1 problem
There is a bug in the distributed version of the Java virtual machine in which headers from version 1.1 of http are not handled properly. Most browsers, except IE 4.0, use http version 1.0 and are not affected by the Java bug. IE 4.0 uses http1.1 by default, which as a consequence the Java bug causes the Rosary to appear to start from the beginning. There
is an option, however, in IE 4.0 to switch to http1.0, which is set as follows:
- Click on menu heading View
- Select Internet options...
- Select the Advanced tab
- Scroll about halfway down (or perhaps further) to http1.1 settings
- Uncheck both boxes under http1.1 settings
- Click on OK
- It may be necessary to reboot your computer before settings take effect
