Angela and I just came back from a trip to Zhu Hui to see the house that Grandpa Look Kong & Uncle Gordan were born in. We had an early start as we took the 7:45 am boat which meant that I had to wake up Angela at 5:30 in the morning. Not an easy task as Angela is definitely not a morning person. In fact when the alarm clock went off, I left it on for Angela to wake up. Instead she hit me for turn off the alarm. Actually she hit me a little too low. Boy, did that wake me up.The boat ride was a little more than an hour and then we were in Zhu Hui. Cousin Dickson who's grandfather and grandpa Look Kong were cousins ( I think) arranged everything and hired a car to take us to the village. It was a short drive, only about a half an hour but impossible to find if you didn't know the way.
At the village we were met by Pak Mo's (Grandpa's sister-in-law) adopted daughter who had the keys to the house. Actually she's fairly old so I should refer to her as an aunt. The house is the largest in the village and has a balcony on the second floor. It is in reasonable good condition although no one is living there now. We also met one of Grandpa Look Kong's cousins who was able to identify the 6 family urns that are still in the house. We took our aunt for lunch, a big seafood dinner before walking across the border to Macau. We hung out there for the rest of the afternoon but were tired so we came back before dinner.

There were 6 urns in the old Look-Kong family home. Dickson wrote notes from another what another distant cousin, Luk Ping Fai, could remember. Some of what Luk Ping Fai told us differs from the family tree that mom got from Grandpa. After consulting from Dickson's notes and discussing with Mom, here are what I think are the contents:
1- Chuk See - Luk Hoi Gong's (Gordan) grandmother
(Grandpa's mother)
2- Luk Chan - Pak Mo's husband
(Grandpa's brother)
3- Chuk See On Yan
(Grandpa's aunt)
Originally we thought that this was Grandpa's sister-in-law but Mom said
that the sister-in-law died in Trinidad. So probably one of the aunts.
4- Luk Wing Fore (from family tree)
(Grandpa's father)
5- Chuk See On Yan
(Grandpa's aunt)
6- Wong or Awai (from family tree)
(Grandpa's uncle)
Pak Mo is the elderly lady we met at dinner when mom&dad and Paul's parents were in hk. She is Grandpa's sister-in-law. She has 2 adopted daughters, one in hk named Lilly and another, Luk Mui Yin, whom we met in Zhu Hui. Luk Mui Yin had the keys to the house and apparently keeps up the place. We also met Luk Ping Fai who is either Grandpa's cousin or nephew. He was the one who told us of the contents of the urns as he helped with the arrangements himself. There are pieces of tape with the identity of the ashes but these have faded with time.
