from: Name Changes in Massachusetts, 1780-1892. The Law stated that
the said persons, from the time of the passing of this act, shall be
called and known by the names, which by this act, they are severally
allowed to take, as aforesaid, and the same shall be considered as
their only proper and legal names, to all intents and purposes)
AMOS Cox, of Weston, s/o Joseph Cox, of Waltham, may take
the name of Daniel Wyman. Amos of Middlesex County.
ANNIE Cox of Boston, Mass changed her name to Sylvia May
Putnam Hollis.
BENJAMIN Deland Cox, of Lynn, cordwainer, may take the name
of William Benjamin Dana.
CHARLES O. Cox, a minor, may take the name of Charles O.
Warren (listed with William E. Cox below)
EMMA Gertrude Cox, of Boston, Mass, was originally named
Gertrude Cox Le Moyne. (See William Frances Cox below)
HANNAH Sumner Cox, of Boston, may take the name of Hannah
Sumner.
HERBERT Andrews Cox of Everett, Mass, was originally named
Alfred Thibeault.
JOSEPH Cox, junior, s/o Joseph Cox, resident in the town of
Concord, in the county of Middlesex, shall be allowed to take the
name of Joseph Wyman.
JOSEPH Eben Cox of North Adams, Mass was originally named
Edmund Williams.
LEONIE Cox of Boston, Mass, changed his name to Leonie
Nanie Crowell.
LULU Cox of Cambridge, Mass, was originally named Cynthia
Louisa Hoffer.
MARY Elisabeth Cox of Taunton, Mass, was originally named
Mary Elisabeth Goff.
WALTER Cox of Chelsea, Mass changed his name to Walter Cox
Green.
WILLIAM Cox, of Lynnfield may take the name of William
Emerson Cox.
WILLIAM E. Cox may take the name of William E Warren.
WILLIAM Frances Cox of Boston, Mass, was originally named
