OTT G Cox, Oct 1929 Webster Co, KY; Ott G Cox, Madisonville, Oct 21. Three days after filing in circuit court of a $10,000 damage suit against him by attorneys for Mrs. Elizabeth Epley, 18, who charged him with assault and battery, Ott G. Cox, 64, well to do farmer of this city, committed suicide at his home here late Saturday afternoon. An inquest held by Dr. T.R. Howell, coroner, developed that Mr. Cox took a shotgun from his house to the rear yard, placed the muzzle against the right side of his face and the butt on the ground and touched off the trigger with a stick. He was almost decapitated, and death was instant. Funeral services were held at the Cox residence here Monday morning and burial was in Nebo cemetery. Rev. W.H. Funderburk, pastor of the First Christian church, Madisonville officiated. A widow and five children survive. (from: The Twice-a-week Providence Enterprise; Monday Oct 21, 1929)

SARAH ELIZABETH Cox, May 1929 Webster Co, KY; Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Cox, following a long illness, passed away Friday afternoon, May 17, at 4 o'clock at her home in Cedar St. She was born in Union county, Aug 28, 1853, and was the daughter of John Wesley & Elizabeth Hughes. She is survived by the following: one son, Gilbert and one step-son, B.C. Cox, of this city, and one step-daughter, Mrs. Margaret Slaton, of Midburg, KY. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by her pastor Rev. Talley. ALMA "LENA" (Cox) Stenzel, Jan 1999 Erie Co, PA; Alma "Lena" Cox Stenzel, 92, of Lakeside Drive, Edinboro, and formerly of Carnegie, died Wednesday, Jan 13, 1999 at Saint Vincent Health Center. She was born in Carnegie, Aug 7, 1906, duaghter of the late Richard and Annie Langston Cox. She worked 47 years for Bell Telephone Company starting as a operator and then as a manager in the cost and budget department. She was a member of the Bell Telephone Pioneers. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Stenzel, March 22, 1965; a step-daughter, Marjorie Nelson in 1998; three brothers, Richard, John and Edward Cox; and six sisters, Louise Buck, Anne and Stella Schindler, Ida Naleppa, Elizabeth Cram and Crystabel Brosek. She is survived by three grandchildren, Sandra Nelson, Marjorie Burns, and Howard Nelson; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. The funeral service will be private. Entombment will be in Jefferson Memorial Park, Pittsburgh. Memorials may be made to the Edinboro Volunteer Fire Department. The Glunt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

CHARLES Cox, 1771 Onslow Co, NC; In the name of God Amen, I Charles Cox of the County of Onslow in the province of North Carolina, being weak in body bur of sound mind and memory (Blessed by God) do this 11th day of March in the year of our Lord 1771, make and publish this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following: That is to say, first, I give tomy loving wife Rebecca Cox, during her natural life my two Negro women Hanner and Peg; likewise two feather beds and furniture for one. Also I give to my son, charles Cox, my Negro boy Bob and theplantation whereon he now lives, together with the land thereunto belonging being two hundred forty acres more or less, with my grist mill and all other privileges and appeurtances thereunto belonging to him and his heirs forever, also one feather bed to him and his heirs forever. Also I give to my son Jesper Cox my Negro girl Rachel. Also I give to my daughter Susanna my Negro girl Lue with one feather bed to her and her heirs forever. Also I give to my daughter Sarah Cox my Negro boy Hardy and one feather bed. Also I give to my son Moses Cox the land and plantation whereon he now liveth containing by estimation two hundred acres of land to him and his heirs forever. Also I give to my son Aaron Cox the land and plantation whereon he now liveth containing seventy-five acres to him and his heirs forever. Also I give unto my son-in-law John Boston the First living child that my Negro woman peg shall have orbring into the world to him and his heirs forever. Also I give to my son-in-law Arthur Royal one Negro girl Jane already in his possession to him and his heirs forever. I also give to my son-in-law Nathan I Jones two cows and claves. I make and order my son Moses Cox & my son Aaron Cox to be sole executors of my Last Will and Testament. In witness whereof, I the said Charles Cox have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year above written
