William Cox : Known all men by these present, that Wiliam Cox of Harford County in Maryland being though M--- favored with a good degree of health excepting a ----from a cold) and of sound disposing mind and memory do make a constitute and appoint this my last will and testament in manner and form following Vidiliant.

After all my just debts and funeral charges are paid I give and bequeath to My loving Wife MARY COX one third part of all my real and personal estate during her natural life and the in---disposal of her right of the personal estate to whom she pleases.

Item...I give and Bequeath to my son JOHN COX the Maryland Noll where he now lives and twenty acres of plowed land which I bought of SMITH DALLAN________Plantation contiquous there___called______egg, which I bought of a certain PATRICK MEQUEN, all ____up Deer Creek about 18 miles from this Plantation _____. Plantation on the aforesaid County, which I give and bequeath to my said son JOHN COX to him for ever or to the extent of the seas term or tie the said lands are or ought to be held by ____

Item..._____I give and Bequeath to my son JOHN COX twenty pounds in silver, out of my personal estate to him and his heirs forever, after a just and reasonable settlement of his ____in my books. and where is ____estate in England at or near Staines in Meddlesea and Eghanhith in Surry, which as a child and Grandchild _____asspertains to my wife and is at present under care of THOMAS FINCH Senior and THOMAS FINCH Junior by ____of____from us to them, which by laws and customs in those cases may if not other way and secured divided or disposed. Eldest son and his heirs, which is not intended or disign'd by me or my wife, he should enjoy all the above of the estate in England, but that he have an equal share there_____ ______ ______ and no more. But in case he should contrary to my will, claim and obtain, that Estate inEngland, then the above sega of the land and Mills to be void and the same to be sold and moneys arising there from tobe equally divided between my other two sons and my four daughters to them and their heirs forever.

Item...I give and bequeath unto my son WILLIAM COX, junior a tract of land donsisting of about one hundred and eighty acres, called part of West Wood and West, begining improvis and three acres and three quartors of Land, part of Aquila Johassetanin conveyed to me by WILLIAM WILSON Ser. deceased, and forty acres of Land part of Margrets-Morent (or Horent) which I bought of SAMUEL LITTON excepting and ____forty acres of land part of the ____above mentioned ____ ___ Land called ____ West Wood and West. Beginning improved which is ____after divided to son ISRAEL COX my said son WILLIAM to have possession of the above mentioned lands and promises divised to him or two ____there of from the time of my decease, and the whole from the same of his Mothers decease together with the houses, outhouses, grist-mill, malt house, brewhouse, saw mill and houses contigeous. There to my wife reserving and keeping to herself any dwelling house she chooses to live in on any part of all my lands and convinent or sufficant outhouses___not conceding one thir part of such outhouses, all which lands and houses, Mills, and Malt and Brew offices and other improvements except as before excepted, I give devise and bequeath to my __son WILLIAM COX, Junior, and his heirs forever, subject to the afore mentioned Segarys, to be paid out of the same by my said son WILLIAM COX, Junior and his heirs or assigns the said lands bequeathed to my son WILLIAM COX Junior to be subject there to ____. The payments of such Segaey's are completed according to the true Intent and meaning of the following Bequeasts----

Item...I give devise and Bequeath to my son ISRAEL COX all my Plantation called MurdaughChance, and about forty acres of Land called West Wood of New West Wood, both at ___ ___ ___JAMES ELLIS, and adjoying or contigious toeach other, and all the vacant land in ___in___my____Lands bought of ___and Sams___ which lyes to the South ward of the main road and adjouning Murdaughs Chance to him and his heirs forever.

Item...I give devise and Bequeath to my son ISRAEL COX forty acres of land part of West Wood and Wests. Beginning improved at the southern most end there of , as expected in the devise to my son WILLIAM, which forty acres of land it is my will be laid off by three or four indicious honest man mutually to be chosen by my sons WILLIAM and ISRAEL which forty acres of land I give divise and Bequeath to my son ISRAEL COX to him and his heirs forever and as my son ISRAEL is now in his Minority, in case of his decease before he arrives to age twenty-one years and without lawful issue, then his estate to be sold and equally divided amongst all my children to them and their heirs forever, and if either of my sons JOHN or WILLIAM should ___ ___ purchases the same in ___ ___ said Land and ___ to be valued by three or four indicious honest mens and the son so purchaseing to have one years credit, having right of purchasing according to these___.

Item...I give and Bequeath to my daughter SARAH PUSEY fifty puoonds in Gold or Silver or grain or other country products as she may approve of at old rates, which with what ever effects she have hereto fore had of us I give and Bequeath to my daughter SARAH and her heirs forever, to be paid as herein after directed

...I give and Bequeath to my daughter MARY BAINES BROWN two hundred in Gold or Silver or grain, or other country products she may approve of at old rates, which what effects she has had of us. I give and Bequeath to my said daughter MARY BAINES BROWN and her heirs forever to be paid as here in after directed (To have and her heirs forever).

Item..I give and Bequeath to my said Daughter MARY COX her riding Mare now vising five years old and ____pair of chest of drawers and feathers bed, bolster and pillows to her and her heirs forever___

Item...I give and Bequeath to my Daughter RACHEL COX the sum of two hundred and fifty pounds in Gold or Silver or in grain, or such other country products as she may approve of at the old rates, to her and her heirs forever to be paid her as herein after directed.

Item..I give and Bequeath to my Daughter RACHEL COX a mare colt now vising two years old, a colt of the mare bequeathed to her sister MARY COX, and chest of drawers and a feather bed, bolster and pillow to her and her heirs forever.

Any wil that after all my ust debts ___ ___ ____ ____ and my wife there____deducted the remainder of my personal Estate be applyed toward paying off the above described Segays as far as it will go.

It is my will and therein order and direct that my son WILLIAM COX Junior do pay the residue of the Segays bequeathed to my daughters at the rate of least of One hundred Pounds s____year and to pay them interest after two years from my decease discharging those first for without invariably attending to their ages, as my really appear to be most wanting__on his complying with such payments of the Segays herein bequeaths my son WILLIAM is to enjoy his bequest.

...It is my wil and I herebyorder and direct that a small piece of land I have on the Northside of Deer Creek containing twenty-two acres and three quarters of land called Cox chance be sold by my Executors and the money arising from them to be part of my personal estate to be applyed as above directed--

...I give and Bequeath to my Granddaughter ELIZABETH HAWKINS, fifty puonds in Gold or Silver or country produce at old rates to be paid her at age eighteen years if she so long survive by my son WILLIAM COX Junior--out of the Estates bequeath to his and his heirs forever and whereas my daughter ELIZABETH HAWKINS deceased had Sunday effects out of my estate via:a pair of chest of drawers now in the posession of RICHARD HAWKINS, a good hunting saddle value three puond one Shilling, a cow of same value in our possession.

...It is my will and I order and direct that the said saddle and cox be made good by my Executors to my granddaugher ELIZABETH HAWKINS and her father to deliver up the chest of drawers to her when she arrives to age of eighteen years, which chest of drawers, saddle and cow or the value of said saddle and cow

...I give and bequeath to my granddaughter ELIZABETH HAWKINS and her heirs forever.

Item...It is my will and I herein order and direct that all our estate in Old England that came by my Wife as herein before mentioned be disposed of sold and survyed and the money arising therfrom, be when ans as they are received equally divided amongst all my children vis; my three sons and four daughter or their ___ ___ ___ ___ my ___ ___ the siad Estate or any part thereof___ ___ ___ to be applyed in like manner amongst the children.

Item..and in as much as there are two Sterling money debts, due and pay___DANIEL DULANY, and about four hundred and twenty-five pounds the principal sum in current money due the widow GREENLEAF in Philadelphia if those debts are not discharged inmy life time i is my will and desire that the profits arising from the whole of my Estate of Mill, Malt House, Brewhouse, and Lands, be applyed for the space of one year after my decease onwards defraying those debts ,the maintenance of my wife and family and son WILLIAM and his family being first allowed.

Item...I constitute and appoint my beloved wife MARY COX and son WILIAM COX Junior my Executrex and Executor to this my last will and testament and also my son JOHN Executor is he choose at the distance he lives to attend to it. Revoking all former and other wills by me hereto for made___this and this only___ ___my own hand to be my true last will and Testament. In witness where of I have here unto set my hand and afixed my seal this Thirteenth day of the Fourth month, in the year of Our Lord Seventeen hundresd and eighty one=-

Signed Sealed Published and declared by the Testor as his true Last Will and testament--who in his presence and at his request have a evidences___subscribed__Names the Words Tract of Land over the first line of the devise to WILLIAM COX. Mary Bains Goldhawk Cox: Where as I MARY COX of Harford County and the State of Maryland being weak in body but of perfect mind and sound judgment so make this my last wil and testament in manner and form following---

After all my just debts and funeral charges are paid the residue of my estate I direct to be disposed of in the form and manner following Viz;

Where as I have givenmy vond t my son JOHN COX for two hundred and fifty uonds for the consideratin of his cutting of an Int--l-- on some property in Great Britain which is supposed to fall to him at my decease on --------Sarah Mary and Estate with himself for the performance of which I have his bond since which B------was gien he has agreed to divide such property with his said sister for one hundred and fifty pounds, being one hundred pounds left than is sup---in said bond wh---have no doubt of his complying

I give and bequeath to my two sons WILLIAM and ISRAEL COX the several ------------

I give and bequeath unto my grand daughter ELIZABETH HAWKINS, daughter of my beloved daughter ELIZABETH (Dec's) one feather bed and furniture there to belonging. Also I farther bequeath unto her the sum of ten pounds. Its my will by wearing apparel be equally divided between my four daughters above named. Share and share alike.

And lastly I constitute and appoint my beloved son JOHN COX and my worthy friend JOHN WILSON executors of this last will and testement. Hereby ____ing and disanulling all former will and wills here to foremade as witness my nad and seal this first day of the eightn month (August) One thousand seven hundred and ninety.
